Public Education

Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers support the mission of the Coast Guard by teaching various boating classes to the public.

Vessel Safety Checks

Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers support the mission of the Coast Guard by checking recreational vessels for required safety equipment, according to Coast Guard guidelines.

Training

Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers support the mission of the Coast Guard by training fellow members in a number of specialty courses.

RBSV

Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers support the mission of the Coast Guard through the Recreational Boating Safety Visitation program, by visiting local marinas, libraries, and other facilities to distribute Coast Guard literature for the boating public.

ATON/PATON Inspections

Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers support the mission of the Coast Guard by inspecting Aids to Navigation (ATON) and Private Aids to Navigation (PATON) and reporting any descrepencies.

Surface Operations

Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers support the mission of the Coast Guard by conducting Marine Safety Patrols, Search and Rescue Operations, Helicopter training support, and other on-the-water operations.

Air Operations

Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers support the mission of the Coast Guard by inspecting the coastline and ports by air. Private pilots provide their aircraft for patrol missions. Certified CGAUX Pilots and trained Observers conduct these flights on a daily basis.

Fellowship

The Coast Guard Auxiliary provides a great opportunity for fellowship with like-minded volunteers. Monthly meetings provide the context for fun, food, fellowship, and even a little business. Non-members are welcome - come check us out.
